Dr.Kurt Tsumura
Dr. Kurt Tsumura (a.k.a. Gadget Doc) is a Colorado Native who graduated from Overland High School in 1987. After high school, he attended Colorado College, where he graduated with a degree in Biology, and an emphasis in Ornithology. He then received his Doctorate from the University of Colorado School of Dentistry when he graduated in 1995.
Dr. Tsumura is a member of the American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, Metropolitan Dental Society, who in 2001 awarded him the Outstanding Service to Children Award.
He enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, playing racquetball, and has an interest in electronics and high-tech gadgets.
Dr.Tim Gutierrez
Dr. Tim Gutierrez was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Growing up in a family of dentists, he felt a calling to dentistry from an early age. He attended the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology. He then went on to attend the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.
The moment he moved to Colorado for dental school, he knew that he had found his new home. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and son, family and friends, skiing, snowboarding, hiking and playing sports.
Dr. Gutierrez is a member of the American Dental Association, the Colorado Dental Association, and the Metro Denver Dental Society.
Dr.Jonathan Benefield
Dr. Jonathan Benefield is a Colorado native born in Grand Junction. He completed his undergrad at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, where he earned his Associates degree in Mathematics and his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. He then moved to San Francisco, California, and completed his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of the Pacific in 2013. While there he especially enjoyed connecting with the LGBTQ+ community by receiving extra training to provide much needed dental services through the Ryan White program, and also volunteering as a dental provider for Project Homeless Connect.
After graduating from dental school, Dr. Benefield returned to his hometown of Grand Junction where he spent several years in practice with his brother who is also a dentist. He eventually began to feel the desire to venture to a larger city and decided to relocate to Denver in 2019. He is so happy to have found his dental home and family here at Midtown Dental!
Dr. Benefield loves spending time with his family. He has played the piano since he was 9 years old and is fond of both Classical and New Age composers. He is interested in fitness and ran on both the track and cross country teams for his high school. He enjoys cooking (eating!), card and board games, reading, and traveling.
Retired Doctors
Dr.Stan DoidaDr. Doida graduated from Northwestern University and named one of America’s top dentists by the consumer research council of America. He retired in 2010.
Dr.Bradley H. DoiDr. Bradley H. Doi received his dental education from Case Western Reserve University’s School of Dental Medicine in 1980. He spent his dental residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Denver and remained on staff for the next 15 years. He retired in 2020.
